Silver Branch Brewing Company is looking for a few driven individuals to join our team as Support. This entry-level position is great for those who are looking to get their foot in the door in the beer industry. An integral part of providing excellent service, the Support must be able to serve beverages and food to guests while also maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for a hospitable guest experience. Candidates with a strong work ethic and those that can move at a fast pace will thrive in this role.

Support Job Description

This position requires individuals to be capable of completing various tasks in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail with little direction. The Support position has multiple roles to assume, and one day can be scheduled as a Host and the other day as a Food Runner. Core responsibilities include and are not limited to; running drink and food orders, pre-bussing tables, refilling waters, sweeping, organizing the beer cooler, fulfilling online orders, polishing silverware, seating guests, and doing whatever is necessary to maintain the flow of service.

In the Food Runner role, the Support is primarily responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately. The Support is expected to listen to learn where the food needs to go and will also communicate with the customers whether it’s checking on their satisfaction or taking an impromptu request. It is this person who will maintain the cleanliness of the expo line, organization of order tickets, and communicate effectively with Kitchen team. The Support will also be responsible for the initial expediting of carryout and catering orders.

In the Host role, the Support is responsible for welcoming customers to Silver Branch and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. Their duties include maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus and accepting phone calls. The Support leads guests to their tables, manages reservations and communicates with Taproom staff about when they have a new party in their section. The Support will clear tables, organize silverware, assess if menus are reusable and toss menus that are dirty, ripped, inaccurate, etc.

Support Responsibilities

  • Deliver amazing guest experiences with strong knowledge of our offerings and a welcoming, friendly demeanor
  • Always help the Manager On Duty to greet guests and ensure that all guests feel welcome from the moment they walk in the door
  • Consistently find ways to create a better service environment through cleanliness, preparation, and organization
  • Properly ID patrons to make sure they are 21 and over and carefully monitor the continued consumption and overall experience of guests visiting Silver Branch
  • Routinely re-stock the beer fridge, keep up with ongoing side-work like roll-ups, washing and washing glassware
  • Responsible for knowing our beer, wine, cocktails and food menu selections and capable of providing recommendations based on guest input
  • Deliver food and beverage to our guests in a timely manner while communicating which drink or dish they are receiving; always announce what is being delivered
  • Ensure guests have proper silverware, napkin, and share plates when delivering food
  • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
  • Utensils polished and stocked
  • Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions
  • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Friendly and fun to be around with a strong work ethic!
  • Capable of learning and implementing new service-based technology
  • Corporate service industry experience is a plus
  • Able to multitask in order to ensure customers get their orders promptly
  • Report to work in complete required uniform
  • Possess a high degree of organizational skills to easily locate tables and bar patrons to fulfill everyone’s orders
  • Professional with excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of Silver Branch Brewing Company
  • Meet personal schedule requirements punctually

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties
  • Available to work a variety of hours including weekends
  • Safely move about and transport items to and from the kitchen on a slick uneven surface
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, wipe, and squat as necessary
