The Sales Manager serves a key leadership role within Silver Branch Brewing Company. The Sales Manager is primarily focused on growing our total wholesale business and maintaining existing account relationships. Growing total sales with a strong emphasis on account throughput is vital to succeeding in this position. The Sales Manager is also broadly responsible for growing Silver Branch’s brand presence and positive reputation. Conceiving creative and effective long-term strategies and implementing those strategies in coordination with the Executive Management team is paramount. The Sales Manager will also manage in-store tastings, beer festivals, and paid off-site events.

In addition to possessing an intuitive ability to get customers excited about Silver Branch products, the Sales Manager will be required to manage multiple individuals and sales relationships while formalizing strategies and agendas that help the entire sales operation grow over time. The Sales Manager must understand beer buyers and how they make purchasing decisions. The Sales Manager will work with the Executive Management Team and the Head Brewer to review the 12-month brewing calendar and ensure we are producing the best beers for product-market fit. The Sales Manager is expected to attend weekly sales meetings on Fridays and set their own activity agenda to ensure successful long-term growth for Silver Branch Brewing Company.


  • Grow total wholesale revenue within Silver Branch Brewing Company
  • Maintain and grow a strong brand presence and reputation for Silver Branch
  • Grow total account presence and allocated shelf space and tap handle placement at key accounts for increased sales and brewery visibility
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to devise and implement successful retail sales marketing strategies to increase store throughput
  • Respond to all incoming sales inquiries in a timely and persuasive manner
  • Maintain a comprehensive schedule that includes all wholesale marketing events, in-store tastings, key account meetings, and other related activities
  • Effectively communicate current sales trends and run the weekly sales meeting
  • Manage execution of all external sales events from set up to breakdown and return all items to their designated storage locations
  • Effectively manage difficult situations with customers and brokers to ensure continued success in our wholesale operation
  • Responsible for establishing and teaching Silver Branch Brewing Company standards of service while always striving for continual improvement.
  • Effectively manage difficult situations with guests, employees or otherwise.
  • Support established systems and help design new ones
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Abilities, Experience

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience with no less than 1 year of experience acting a sales representative within the beer industry
  • Very strong skills with all Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Publisher
  • Significant real-world experience in fields related to sales and management
  • High degree of familiarity with self-distribution and its value to small breweries
  • Goal-oriented with ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity, critical thinking, good judgment, sense of urgency and honesty
  • Existing relationships with key buyers in the state of Virginia
  • Experience with negotiations and invoicing related to wholesale accounts
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to multitask and work coolly and professionally in time sensitive situations
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and/or pivot plans quickly in order to coordinate corrective actions needed
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have successfully completed the Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work early, long hours with flexibility and the ability to work beyond normal working hours
  • Capable of standing, stooping, lifting, and bending for extended periods of time and being highly mobile when on the floor
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to drive for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 135 pounds frequently
