Silver Branch provides guests and beer fans alike with an impressive array of beers and other products to choose from. The Production Manager works across multiple departments to ensure the timely delivery of those products to our fans, alternate taproom locations, and wholesale partners. A successful Production Manager will establish processes and systems that are influenced by data-driven research to inform strategic decisions and continuously improve the overall product-oriented logistics at Silver Branch in a cost-conscious manner.

The Production Manager will work with the Director of Brewing Operations, and brewers in various locations to devise a production schedule for ensuring the timely delivery of various products. A key responsibility is overseeing production planning for all Silver Branch Brewing locations across multiple states with multiple third-party distributor relationships. Candidates must have strong organizational skills, administrative capabilities, and a desire to continue implementing and ultimately improving upon existing systems. Additionally, the Production Manager is responsible for establishing maintenance schedules and providing oversight on company-wide maintenance and repairs.

Candidates should have a willingness to learn bookkeeping systems and the ability to identify and implement new software systems that make daily operations at Silver Branch more efficient. Development of a robust and well understood inventory management system is a requirement for this position. An upbeat and charismatic personality is a must; the successful candidate will accommodate shifting responsibilities and function effectively in a vibrant and evolving company. The Production Manager will function as a central figure in ensuring that production operations at Silver Branch Brewing Company continue to improve over time as this fast-growing organization expands.

This position is a full-time, hybrid position, with two days a week required at our Warrenton, Virginia location and two days a week required at our Silver Spring, Maryland location and one remote workday per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the global brewing schedule for all locations.
  • Manage the entry of brewery invoices into brewery management software, maintain vendor relationships, track A/R and A/P; collect on past-due accounts.
  • Work with accountants to improve integration of accounting software with sales and inventory management systems.
  • Inventory Management: Get inventory counts from Head or Lead Brewers and update beer inventory in Ohanify, WooCommerce, and MarginEdge.
  • Manage delivery personnel: schedule shifts and organize routes for delivery drivers.
  • Present important information to all managers regarding the movement of product and work across those departments to create meaningful insights for product selection.
  • Manage taproom orders from each location and organize the transfer of beer and brewery supplies between locations.
  • Manage sales personnel and influence their strategic efforts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • File monthly alcohol taxes for all locations accurately and on time.
  • Label management: Generate UPC’s, approve label proofs, submit labels to TTB and VA, order labels and track delivery, manage labels inventory.
  • Forecast production demand for any given week; communicate demand to most senior Brewers at all locations.
  • Identify methods for continually improving our logistics and business systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of combined brewery management experience with 2 or more of those years involving administrative responsibilities.
  • Very detail-oriented and highly analytical with an ability to learn new technical systems including but not limited to inventory management software and accounting software.
  • Superb organizational skills, pride in supporting others and overall company performance.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and most other Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Strong desire to study numbers and formulate decisions in consultation with the CEO & COO.
  • Full-time requirement: 5 days per week with an average of 45 hours per week.
  • A can-do attitude and a high degree of efficiency and ability to make things happen.
  • Background and experience with bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Strong aptitude for using and integrating software programs.
  • Experience communicating with senior managers across multiple departments.
  • Aptitude for convening and positively engaging and working with people to propose and implement management and organizational systems to solve problems.
